ANGELINE MZULWINI

AngieAngeline Mzulwini, affectionately known as Angie, is a House Mother at Mother of Peace, Illovo community in South Africa. She grew up in poverty stricken Inkwali, a short distance from Illovo, with her mother and grandmother. She is a single parent and mother of three biological children, Brightman who is twenty, Hopewell, who is 18, and Lungisani, who is 14 years old. Her children live at home in Inkwali where she visits them during her days off. In addition, she is a foster mother to six children at Mother of Peace, Illovo.  She loves singing and forms part of the Mother of Peace Illovo Housemothers choir. Playing with children brings her absolute joy. Her favorite meal to cook is a curry or stew with rice and vegetables.

She joined Mother of Peace, seeing this as an opportunity to teach children respect as she feels that many children who grow outside their community often lack the true values of “Ubuntu.” Her passion is to re-instill those values.  Coming from a poverty stricken environment, additional money would see her dreams of building her own home become a reality. Placing an emphasis on education, she would like to be able to pay her children’s school fees without worries and ensure that that her children eat well and are taken care of whilst she is at the Mother of Peace Community.
