Nomfundo Ngwane is a housemother in St Mathews, the only “Boys Only” house at Mother of Peace, Illovo. She is responsible for seven teenage boys at MoP. She grew up in Izingolweni with her family. She is a single mother of two children, Lungelo, who is 14 years old, and Mlamuli, who is 12 years old.
Her children live with her family who she visits on her days off. She enjoys cooking and playing with the younger children. Her favorite meal to cook is chicken or beef curry, rice, and salad. It is rather difficult for Nomfundo, raising seven boys apart from her own two sons. One of the children in St Matthews is physically and intellectually challenged and he is often difficult to manage, but her love for children sees her through these challenges. With extra money she would invest in her children’s education.
