NOMUSA NGCONGO

Nomusa is one Nomusa helping Ntho -her foster childof the longest serving housemothers at Mother of Peace, Illovo. She is a Chief Housemother who is also responsible for general communication and dissemination of information amongst the housemothers. She enjoys serving the community and often helps out in the greater community as a community health worker during her off days. She grew up in Magabheni, a fair distance from Mother of Peace. She is a single mother who lived with her family before joining the foster care community. She has an 18 year old daughter, Nolwazi who she sees when she goes home.
She enjoys cooking and the fresh smell of a clean house is very important to her. She enjoys cooking steamed bread and cabbage. She wants to teach the children at Mother of Peace about the way of life outside the foster care community, as she feels that they are often sheltered from the realities of struggles and poverty in their surrounding community. Her passion is to educate and orientate them in life skills. With extra money, Nomusa would invest in higher education for her daughter because she wants to see Nolwazi’s career dreams realized.
