Aimée K. Michel
Aimée K Michel (she/her) is a Theater Director, Playwright, and Educator based in the Berkshires WAM Theatre: Associate Artistic Director. Selected Artistic Credits: Artistic Director The New Orleans Shakespeare Festival at Tulane; Artistic Director, The Drama League of NY; Director, Capital Repertory Theatre, Berkshire Theatre Group, The Hangar Theatre, Actors Theater of Louisville and Williamstown Theatre Festival. Publication: The Methuen Anthology of American Women Playwrights 1970-2020. Creative Inspirations: stories that inspire audiences to understand our common humanity. Community Engagement: created a theater program for public middle and high schools in New Orleans with SFT, hurricane relief after Hurricane Sandy. Membership/Affiliations: Drama League Directors Project Fellow. Selected Training: MFA Directing, Tulane University. Proudest Achievement: Co-founding and leading The New Orleans Shakespeare Festival and launching a three tier educational theater program in New Orleans schools that was one of the first recipients of the NEA Shakespeare for a New Generation grants.
