Carolyn Butler

Carolyn Butler (she/her) has been involved in the not-for-profit world for over twenty years as a fundraiser, board member and volunteer in the areas of arts, culture and social services. Before returning to her hometown of Lenox in 2000, she worked in finance, public relations and event planning in the Boston area. In the Berkshires she has enjoyed working with multiple not-for-profit organizations as a fundraiser and event planner. In addition to her philanthropic work, Carolyn embarked on a journey to design and construct her passive solar house, which is net zero. She holds a BA in Sociology from Wheaton College in Norton, MA and has completed graduate level study in psychology from the Harvard Extension School as well as a certificate in positive psychology and life coaching. Previous to serving on WAM’s board, Carolyn served as a board member for the New England Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the board of trustees for the Lenox Library. She is excited to be working with WAM Theatre and its unique mission of theatre as philanthropy. It brings together two worlds that she feels passionately about and she looks forward to helping further the impact that WAM Theatre makes on the world.
