Jean Minuchin

Jean Minuchin is an arts educator, performer and director of the non-profit World and Eye Arts Center. She will be joining WAM as a
visiting Teaching Artist for the Elder Ensemble. Selected Artistic Credits: Jean’s work blends her three loves- the arts, community and social causes. With a BFA and MA in Theater Education Jean likes to work across art genres. As part of her own artistic work she has exhibited one of her films at the Boca Museum of Art and has performed her original multi-disciplinary plays at NYU,
the Hollywood Fringe, The Triskelion Arts and Rane Galleries and puppetry and performance art festivals. Educational/Activist Work: Jean taught visual arts and drama in the public schools for 14 years. She now works independently creating workshops that engage community and address social issues through creativity. Inspired by those who fight in creative ways for justice, Jean sees thembeauty in every life story. Her form of activism is less about taking to the streets in protest than creating transformation one person at a time through creative exploration. Jean believes that the arts are a powerful tool for transformation both individually and as a society. Memberships/Proudest Achievements: Holding membership in Puppeteers of America and the Western Mass Puppetry
Guild, she is most proud of a new play completed during the pandemic. She will be performing her upcoming solo clown play, “American Stink Bug” a satire humanity from a bugs viewpoint in April 2023 for The Earth and Fire Arts Fest. Final Word: Jean is thrilled to collaborate with WAM’s mission to shine light on the lives of women and girls through theater and to work with the Elder Ensemble. Connect at www.worldandeye.com.
