On creating theatre about Climate Change:
“I’m interested in the gap of how we are tapping into memory and how we are telling stories as we are anticipating the worst of something to come.”
On devising performance:
“from an idea or soft outline of an image I begin defining a story that is calling to be brought to life, through found text, music, a lexicon of gestures, visual art… in communication with other artists from the very beginning.”
On creating the new iteration of Outside in the Berkshires:
“What’s really exciting about this experience is that there are elements of the original visual research that are seeping into the production in ways that weren’t possible before just by the nature of being in open air and being set against this landscape that’s so beautiful… It’ll be really interesting to see how we can really magnify the landscape of The Mount and make an audience see the landscape in ways that are both familiar and unfamiliar to them.”
fragments of Outside will be performed at The Mount on Sunday, August 18th, as part of WAM Theatre’s 15th Anniversary Benefit. Tickets are limited and can be purchased HERE
