Online Reading of CAMPUS UNREST for a Cause

Online Reading of CAMPUS UNREST for a Cause

WAM Theatre invites you to a Fresh Takes Online reading of CAMPUS UNREST, a new play by WAM’s Associate Artistic Director, Talya Kingston, on Sunday, May 3 from 3 – 5:30 pm, this special benefit performance is followed by a short talkback with the playwright.

The play follows Mia, Kwame, and Darren as they arrive at a prestigious New England college during a time of social upheaval. They are each determined to infuse their education with activism, but haunted by their own backgrounds and identities, as well as an actual specter of a beloved professor.

This new play reading brings together an exciting ensemble of actors. WAM is delighted to welcome back: Cuis ‘Bobby’ Hubens (Pipeline, and recent Elliot Norton Award Nominee), Rachel Siegel (Special, Swallow, Can You Hear Me..), Joan Coombs (Emilie…, Escaped Alone), and Maizy Scarpa (Grand Concourse, The Tall Girls, 24 Hour Theatre Project). WAM is thrilled to include newcomers Trenda Loftin (WAM Teaching Artist) and Daniel Rios.

Thanks to a generous WAM Board Member, every artist in this reading will receive a stipend for participating.
